National Series Events

These events are on a larger scale than the Area Travellers and deliver some of the best single-handed racing in the country. They are great fun, and up to 150 sailors typically attend, and competition at the front of the fleet can be fierce. Full details of each event and access to an online entry system can be found using the links below.

We are excited to see new sailors transition from local and regional events to national competitions. We understand that this can be daunting for first-timers. To support them, we have a dedicated national-level race coach who oversees a group for newcomers at each event. This includes pre-event briefings about the venue, Notice of Race (NOR), and Sailing Instructions (SIs). Each morning at the event, the coach provides briefings and offers advice on the water to help ensure a positive experience for all. If you want to benefit from the coaching, please email events manager Claire [email protected] after signing up for the event, and she will contact the coach.

We have compiled some "Top Tips" from Topper parents to help sailors and supporters understand, participate in, and enjoy the events. We love encouraging first-timers to the national events and providing coaches to ensure they get the most out of the weekend.

To save money, remember that fees are lower when you book early. Be sure to note the dates on the calendar. At least a week before the event, you can download important event documents, such as Sailing Instructions, course cards, and arrival arrangements, from the entry system.

Please keep in mind that these events are organised and run by volunteers for the benefit of our sailors. The entry fees are merely intended to cover the NS series costs, and we need everyone's assistance to make it successful.

There are many ways to contribute, including manning the registration desk, managing the tally board, stacking trolleys, making tea, driving a RIB, recording championship numbers on a committee boat, or hoisting flags. There’s a role for everyone! Please support your class by signing up to help at events via the events manager Claire, [email protected]
